As new moms we have so many questions about how to lose pregnancy weight, how to get our bodies back and how to fight postpartum depression.  I have created a list of questions that I am sure you are asking yourself because I did too.  

 

  1. What are the benefits of working out after having a baby? According to American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, postpartum fitness helps strengthen & tone abdominal muscles, boosts energy, helps prevent postpartum depression, promotes better sleep, relieves stress and can help you lose pregnancy weight. As a mom of two boys, Eli 3 and Isaiah almost 1, I can relate completely!  Most of us know that working our releases all these beautiful endorphins but for many of us so hard to find the time after having a baby.  As a new mom and yoga teacher I found it extremely difficult to get to my yoga classes which made it hard to lose my pregnancy weight.  I started exercising at home with my new baby boy.  I also noticed how much my son hated tummy time on the ground but when he was on my legs he loved it.  I started securing him to my legs with what we now call a Roos Wrap.  As my son grew, I got stronger and quickly got my body back.  I didn’t just want this cool idea of Roos Wraps to be just for me but wanted to make an affordable way for moms to feel beautiful and strong while helping babies avoid conditions like flat head syndrome.

 Mamas the biggest thing I can say is you’ve got this.  I know there are days that you are beyond exhausted and hard to find the motivation.  Each day with our babies and children are precious gifts from God.  I pray that when you look in the mirror you see the gorgeous woman that you are.  The woman God created you to be.  It doesn’t matter if you have 6 pack abs or a nice booty, what matters is your character.  How do you treat your babies, how do you treat yourself?  Fitness just helped me emotionally and physically grow with my babies.  I also realize how incredibly important fitness is for the development of our babies.  Whether or not a Roos Wrap is right for you, please make tummy time a priority.  When you’re at the park dont just keep your baby in the carseat, pull them out and stretch and exercise their little body.  They don’t have a voice, they can’t tell you please mama pull me out.  Think about their spine, think about their head and their little organs all squished.  Movement will get their blood flowing and the best part is with Roos Wraps you can move with them!
